Scenario Intro
Banquet halls in five-star hotels are high-revenue assets that require constant spatial flexibility. The design challenge lies in creating a partition that is truly ‘seamless’—appearing as a permanent structural wall when closed, yet folding away completely when the full hall is needed. Achieving this while maintaining a certified STC 53 performance requires precise engineering at the vertical junctions and ceiling interfaces.
Transparency Disclosure
EBUNGE’s engineering team works closely with interior designers to ensure that our functional partitions enhance, rather than detract from, the architectural vision of the banquet hall.
1. **Concealed Vertical Profiles and Magnetic Alignment**
Standard movable walls have visible metal frames. Our banquet-hall series features hidden vertical profiles where the decorative finish wraps around the edge of the panel. Integrated magnetic strips ensure that panels ‘snap’ into perfect alignment, creating a flat, wall-like surface that guests perceive as a solid structure.
2. **Ceiling Plenum Sealing Strategies**
In high-end banquet halls, the ceiling often features complex lighting coves and decorative moldings. We design custom acoustic baffles that follow the contours of the ceiling, ensuring that sound cannot escape over the top of the track. This ‘total envelope’ approach is essential for maintaining 53dB isolation.
3. **High-Density Mineral Wool vs. Fiberglass Cores**
Many competitors use cheap fiberglass, which sags over time and loses its acoustic properties. EBUNGE uses high-density (100kg/m³) mineral wool, which is fire-resistant and maintains its structural integrity and acoustic performance for the life of the building.
4. **Motorized Pressure Seals for Consistent Performance**
Manual cranking is prone to human error. Our banquet series utilizes motorized pressure seals that apply 400 Newtons of force to the top and bottom of each panel. This guarantees a perfect air-tight seal, which is the absolute requirement for premium sound isolation.
[Engineering Decision]
We recommend the Series 85 Seamless-Elite for heights up to 5 meters. Its lighter profile allows for tighter stacking pockets while providing professional-grade STC 53 isolation.
[Risk Reminder]
Verify the levelness of the structural ceiling beam. If the beam deflects by more than 10mm under the load of the wall, the panels will not hang plumb, causing gaps in the vertical joints and massive sound leakage.
Engineer-led FAQ
- Q: Is the wood finish real or laminate?
A: We offer both. For five-star venues, we typically provide A-grade natural wood veneers with book-matched grain patterns. - Q: Can we add acoustic mirrors to the panels?
A: Yes, we can integrate high-strength safety mirrors with acoustic dampening backing.
